Happy Mother's Day

The most precious part of my life was celebrated today. And it was perfect.
PERFECT. Just like him. Just like the One who made him that way.
Just like I prayed for him to be.
Precious and Perfect in a way that not many would understand until they see it.
And even in his "imperfections" I am reminded of how he was healed and Who made him whole. I am reminded of how His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
And I am filled with love, gratitude, and awe - that I was chosen to be the mother of such a perfect gift.
My sweet little boy picked my out my first Mother's Day gift and it was perfect too...
A beautiful flower ring (and no I didn't find it in a tree...that's just my attempt to display it. lol) doubt he wanted to play with it as much as give it to me...but the fact that his little hands reached for it while shopping with Daddy means the world. I love it. I love him.

And feeling such love also makes me so thankful once again, not only to the friends and family who've loved and encouraged me my whole life! But to the friends who helped me enter this enchanted world of "motherhood" with all it's twists and turns. The friends who can only be described as heaven sent - sweet unexpected gifts from my Father above to help me during a time that was the most difficult time of my life. These angels, who are mother's to "Little Miracles" of their own, are still coming into my life every day. I am so blessed to know them. They are strong, loving and inspirational women with whom
I now share a bond I never knew I was missing. Our God has a plan.
To these mothers, and these miracles...I wanted to pay a special tribute. :)
Thank you so much.
And Happy Mother's Day.

Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for that special tribute! Our God definitely has a plan and I am so thankful for this bond we all share. You all help me know that I am not alone. Big hugs to you and your little ones this Mother's Day!

Oh Joanna, how splendid. I'm rocking Em in her room while she naps, reflecting back on this year and then I saw I'm in tears!!

I often asked "why??" of God when we got the diagnosis. Once I saw Emily I understood. And every day there are reminders of why, reminders of what I am able to appreciate now, do now, believe now, share now, that I couldn't before. Reminders of what we have now, who we *know* now, what matters now. Now I am grateful.

Happy Mother's day, Jet's Mommy!! Thank you for this collection of rockstars.

Very sweet post, Josie - and an excellent slide show! I don't know any of those babies yet (except Jet) but it was really special. Thanks for being such a good example with your parenting experiences and your spiritual thoughts. Happy Mother's Day! (and this is a re-post because I had to change my blog name)

You are the cutest mom, You are so sweet! I really enjoyed your post. Once again how cool would it be if all of us Spina Bifida mommies meet with our babies some where fun. I think we should plan it in like a year. Who's in?

Thank you!!! How lucky and blessed we absolutely are. Our children do daily teach us that perfection is not found in what we would "think" but in what we know as God's perfect plan, and it is wonderful being the mom to perfection isn't it??? LOVE YOU!!!!! Happy mother's day!!!!

Oh Joanna - that was beautiful! Your post was wonderfully inspirational and the video was amazing. What an honor to have my Annabelle amongst those beautiful and courageous little ones. I too, truly believe that we were perfectly matched with our children and we are very blessed. I am so thankful for the community of friends we have made. You and Jet are super special to us and we can't wait to meet you here in California this summer!

Happy Mother's Day my friend,

That was AMAZING. I have been away from the sites/internet for a while due to a down computer. Actually, it ended up being a BAD power cord, that's why we couldn't get it fixed.

I have missed SO much and everyone has missed SO much in our lives.

Once again, great job!
