Not to be left out...

...we have snow!
Seems as if everyone else does...so now it's our turn. :)
It's getting late and the snow has made me sleepy. But I wanted to post a few pics of the snow we ordered for our California Cousins to enjoy during their visit.

Yes - we have that kind of power.
Snow in the South - everybody up North - take note.
Trying to stay warm. :)
Daddy it's cold out here!
Could they be any more handsome?
Everyone is always wanting to do this...so here you go - This is for you!
A couple of snow bunnies.

And a tiny snow angel...
Everyone wants a picture with Jet. He's a guarantee the picture will turn out cute. :)
L.O.V.E.
Stay warm everybody!

And watch out for this guy...

Gottcha!

I finally captured a couple of pictures of the infamous "first teeth"! These pearly whites have been hangin' around now for a month or so now but whenever I tried to see them or show them to anyone he promptly sticks his tongue out! Well, I finally got this picture...

Then a few days later....the cutest series of pictures ever! These make me smile every time I look at them....(little sigh)...I'm in big trouble. :)
Baby blue-eyes...I wonder how long till they turn brown...I've heard that can happen - and the centers around them are already golden.

Lyrics

I've always been one to listen to lyrics. I like to know the words and if I can't understand them I look them up online (it makes me crazy not to know!). Knowing the lyrics empowers me - I can always know when the change the station if the words are negative or inappropriate before I am forced to hear them - I am obliged to correct my husband when he sings the wrong words (lol - although that can be quite funny to just let him make them up) but the most fulfilling is that I can find encouragement and messages for my own life in the lyrics of a song on the radio. The most recent of these was yesterday in the car when I heard a song for the first time - it's by Lee Ann Womak (yes I listen to country) and it's called "There Is a God". I will be the first to acknowledge that you never know with country if it's going to be sweet or sappy, charming or cheesy - but as I listened to the words I felt the familiar goosebumps come over me that inevitably accompany a compelling lyric and (embarrassingly enough to admit) the teary eyes (don't read into it - I do this all the time now). The melody was simple, the message was pure, and I felt happy listening to it - what more can you ask for in a song? So I bought it on i-tunes as soon as I got home (lol) and since I didn't have time to post yesterday - I thought I'd share this song as well as some new pics of the reason I cry at everything now - I've become THAT girl - I think back to watching my mother cry at movies, books, songs or just talking (seemed bizarre then, now strangely familiar) and her explaining the concept of "happy tears" which seemed totally ridiculous to me. But the flood-gates that were opened during pregnancy have yet to be closed, and I am now the one who's eyes well up with emotion at the drop of a hat,
...or the song on the radio
...or the picture of a miracle.

Prayer Request

Jet would like everyone to say a prayer on behalf of his little friend, Annabelle. She is another "miracle baby" like Jet - born with SB- and is going to have her 3rd shunt revision surgery today. She was admitted to the hospital Sunday with her shunt malfunctioning (something that can happen at anytime to anyone with a shunt) and she is not even 7 months old. I remember when Jet had his shunt surgery at 6 months thinking of Annabelle and how she had been through this a few times already. :( I don't think this is the norm - and hopefully it won't happen again, poor baby- but it is still a worry -always floating in the back of the minds of mommies like myself. So please keep her and her family in your prayers - pray for a successful surgery, speedy recovery, and no more shunt problems for this precious little girl! Thank you so much!

Sweet Talker

With Valentines Day coming up I thought this video would be appropriate. I love this little boy. :) And is it just me, or does it sound like he loves me too?

Happy Love Month!

When your sick...

You get to snuggle up in blankets...
Eat pudding...
Watch cartoons...
And relax on the couch...
Yes - Jet has his first cold. And believe me - despite the cute pictures above - it's no fun! Even with all that my poor little boy is not enjoying his first cold. I'm not dedicated enough to take pictures of the sad moments this cold has brought on. The worst thing in the world according to Jet - wiping his nose. The worst thing in the world according to mommy - her baby can't breathe through his nose so that makes eating, sleeping etc. MUCH harder for poor baby - forget drinking a bottle! How do babies survive severe congestion!? He's had stuffy noses with teething but THIS is ridiculous. I feel so bad for him! Sunday he was such a sad little boy (and I was a very, very sad mommy). He would just cry if I wasn't holding him and walking around the room. Lip quivering and all! I kept thinking how I would see poor, sick babies around and dread when my baby would be that flush-faced, runny-nosed, teary-eyed mess - and now he is. :( Not as bad as some...but still not my healthy Jet.

Now I will say he is doing MUCH better than he was on Friday. He still has the symptoms but is happy to play and sleeping a little better. During this illness Jet has discovered he loves all types of pudding, avocado is still good, and cheese grits were successful. Hopefully he is on the road to recovery and can go back to just cutting teeth. And Mommy can go back to not worrying so much. So here's hoping for a long nap this afternoon little boy!
Mommy wants you to rest and get well SOON!
