Happy 3rd and 4th!

First off everybody- this is Jet speaking and I have good news. I went to my first physical therapy appointment today and it went GREAT! The therapist was so nice and she was so excited at the movement and muscles I have! She said my feet and legs were very good and I only have to wear one special shoe on my right foot now (my left one is a-ok!). She says that this shoe will help my foot develop nice a straight with a good arch so I can walk on them WITHOUT HELP someday! That's right! Yet another diagnosis that I will be walking on my own...only time will tell of course, but we LOVE hearing that. Mommy and Daddy still can't get over how good all the doctors say I am doing. It so wonderful to see such obvious answers to prayers every day. What blessings...

Like my special Jet blanket? It's from my good friends the Bassetts in New York. They had it made especially for me. :) I can't wait to meet those people. Thank you Bassetts! We celebrated two very special July days this weekend. Aunt Kay's birthday falls on the day before all the fireworks but we had more fun celebrating her than anything else. It was also a very special weekend because Aunt Cheri in California got married! Weddings, birthdays and babies all over the place this summer! lol. We can't wait to see pictures of Aunt Cheri and Uncle Dan (yes...another Dan in the family! Jet will think everybody is named Dan before long. lol) at their wedding. Until then, here are some pics from the weekend. :)

Sweetest little boy in the world!
And his Daddy is nice too. :)

Prayer Request

I just learned of a family who is in need of prayers. They are expecting a little baby girl but were told just yesterday that something is very wrong and that the baby won't make it. Here is an excerpt from their blog. We feel a very deep connection with their sadness and are praying for a miracle. We know God can work wonders as he did for our sweet baby and we are praying for the same healing on Sara Kay McCarty. Please add this family to your prayers tonight and continue to remember them as they cope with something no parent is ever prepared for.

Earlier this afternoon, the MFM doctor called with the preliminary results of the amniocentesis. Sweet baby Sara Kay has a lethal genetic defect and will not be able to survive outside the womb. Please continue to pray for her, that she doesn't experience any suffering. Please continue to pray for us, that we have the strength to come through this most difficult time. Thank you for all of your prayers, love, and support.

Crying Eyes

Today I experienced something that I'm sure all mother's have gone through. Your baby screaming in the backseat of the car while you drive home helpless to do anything. Since Jet has been home I've been able to ride in the backseat with him while David drives. Jet has cried before but usually likes carrides and is consoled by a bottle or pacifier or my voice or something. Not so today. And this is what I thought.
When your special day comes and baby is born - you're scared and disoriented as the doctor delivers the most precious thing in your world...but then you hear the sound of your baby crying when he's out and finally here and it is the most beautiful sound in the world... and you cry too. Then one month later when you're in the car and your baby is screaming and upset and wanting to be out of his carseat...it is that same baby crying...but this time it's the most horrible sound in the world and you feel helpless and frantic...and you finally get home and hands shaking get him out of what now seems to be a baby torture device! lol...and you cry too. And you'll marvel how a sound can be so beautiful and fill your heart with joy...and then later on rip your heart out and leave you exhausted! But it's all because you're his mommy...and he's a part of you...and he and always will be.
Now don't worry...I will brave this storm again. I'm not going to just stay home and refuse to drive my baby around. lol. And I'm sure it will get easier...but never easy. Am I right? :) Jet- your mommy loves you and she's so glad your sleeping soundly now and hopes you won't remember this experience when you wake up.

Uncle Dan'l

Today we had a special visit from Uncle Dan'l all the way from Florida! This was the first meeting between the two so Jet got all fixed up and decided once again that he wanted his picture made. That boy is obsessed! lol. Uncle Daniel brought a little soccer set for "BJ" (Baby Jet - Uncle Daniel's special nickname :)) and Daddy played with it right away. Jet didn't even fuss - he shares so nicely. What a good boy. :) Okay...picture time.

Nice to Meet You

The Penny Boys

So here we are on a beautiful July morning. :)

First Impressions

Hello everyone! Jet woke up this morning and asked me to take some more pictures of him. I thought he looked pretty cute myself so I agreed. He did a wonderful job posing for the camera and seemed very happy with all the attention. :) He is becoming a bit of a cuddle bunny and doesn't like to be put down for very long - but this morning he was content to be propped up and posed like a pro. Isn't he the handsomest?

So Jet got the idea to do some impressions during the photo shoot. Ya know, just to spice things up. So here is young impressionist Jet Montgomery Penny and his impression of the 7 dwarves. :)
You know...as in Snow White.
 Drumroll please...

Baby of the Month!

Well - he didn't actually win any awards that I know of - but Jet did turn one month old yesterday (on his cousin Claire's 17th birthday - she was sweet enough to share her day with him. :)) We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast - my first morning outing ever! Can you an believe a whole month has gone by!? He has certainly outgrown a few outfits now, but he still seems so new (even if he's not quite fitting in newborn. lol.) We are so happy at how well he is doing. We had another head ultrasound this past tuesday and NO SHUNT is still the verdict. He is happy and healthy (aside from some baby reflux - I think they used to call it colic. lol.- that makes him fussy and upset at least a few hours a day.) I feel bad for him when he burps then cries (I'm pretty sure cause it burns) because that's what I went through during the pregnancy! lol. I know his pain and it's so sad when his little lip curls and he gets so sad. He's still a good eater though and weighed in 8lbs8oz at the pediatrician this week. Not quite what I was when I was BORN! But he's gettin' there. :)
So happy 1 month birthday little man!

Aunt Nenna (okay - it's really Jenna...) and little cousin Jane.
Happy Family.
Auntie Kay thinks I'm so cute! I make silly faces.

Wedding Weekend

Hey everyone! This is Jet speaking. :) This weekend my Uncle Nate and Aunt Kelly got married and boy were we busy. Rehearsal dinner, bridesmaids at the house, lots pictures and family all around. I had so much fun and attention.

Aunt Kayleigh is so sweet. I love her.
This is my Aunt Kelly. She is the bride. Isn't she pretty?
I got to meet my Aunt Nenna and cousin Jane for the first time.  Jane is 3 months older than me. I like her red hair. :)
